TCS: Some Things Far Outside the Beltway that will Make You Laugh

Good Morning!

Welcome to The Coffee Shop, just for you early risers on Monday mornings.
This is an Open Thread forum, so if you have an off-topic opinion burning
a hole in your brainpan, feel free to add a comment.

(For those unfamiliar with the phrase, “Outside the Beltway” is the rest of the United States, and “Inside the Beltway” means Washington DC, often referring the doings of political insiders there.)

Like a welcome summer rain,
humor may suddenly cleanse
and cool the earth, the air and you.

– Langston Hughes

I think we all need a break.

If current events are getting you down, please watch these videos:

So has Houdini been reincarnated as a golden retriever?

The first minute and 20 seconds is just lame conversation between the hosts — suggest you skip to the truly weird and funny part.

Before you start saying “Only in Los Angeles” I saw references to Goat Yoga  crazes in Oregon and New Hampshire. Do NOT try this at home!

Would you be willing to attempt CAT or DOG Yoga with your pet?

Nona Blyth Cloud has lived and worked in the Los Angeles area for the past 50 years, spending much of that time commuting on the 405 Freeway. After Hollywood failed to appreciate her genius for acting and directing, she began a second career managing non-profits, from which she has retired. Nona has now resumed writing whatever comes into her head, instead of reports and pleas for funding. She lives in a small house overrun by books with her wonderful husband.

My dog is pretty much the same. When I start to exercise, she gives a big sigh, heaves herself up, and goes to take the rest of her nap on one of her other beds. Of course, she’s close to 18 years old now. When she was younger, she tried to join in, which made exercising a lot funnier.
