1. You cannot discriminate against against a product of self choosing, which gays are.
2. How much respect can you rationally expect from the opposite view by such base insults to that which we deem most sacred? Christ and Cross?
Christians believe sex is sacred and reserved for a man and a woman in Holy wedlock.
Can you make such a claim?
This is the foundation for trust and the family, also sacred.
The family collective is the community and society.
Damage or disrupt marriage and society as a whole will pay.
I am so glad you’re the self-appointed spokesperson for all of Christianity, but upholding your particular dogmatic preferences is not within the purview of government enforcement according to the 1st Amendment.
Christ Centered Teaching,
“1. You cannot discriminate against against a product of self choosing, which gays are.”
Accepting for a minute your false premise that “being gay” is a product of choosing and following it logically ALL Christians self choose to accept Jesus, therefore it is impossible to discriminate against Christians. If that is so then the Government is free to make laws that they deem necessary to promote fairness in society. Government has and they have created laws against discriminatory practices by admitted “self choosing” Christians against people who don’t share their lifestyle.
“2. How much respect can you rationally expect from the opposite view by such base insults to that which we deem most sacred? Christ and Cross?”
Actually, at your website and in your comment you display the view of a minority of Christians as a whole and a minority of the American people who are Christian. That is the sin of False Pride. By using the term “We Deem” you are actually blaspheming Jesus, by speaking in the name of his Deity. In Christian teachings Jesus came to abrogate the Torah and replace it with belief in his divinity. John urged Peter to eat foods proscribed in the Torah as abominations. Since Jesus never referred to homosexuality.
“Christians believe sex is sacred and reserved for a man and a woman in Holy wedlock.”
Only some Christians believe that. However, that is not the point. This country is not a Theocracy yet people like you would have it so. If you get your way then you will wind up damning yourselves and all of your followers to the same Hell reserved for people like Adolph Hitler, or those Christians that participated in the Inquisition occupy. This is because you are so weak in your faith that you need to require others to practice it unwillingly in order to bolster your own faith.
“This is the foundation for trust and the family, also sacred.
The family collective is the community and society.”
So the Duggars condoning sexual abuse among their own children is an example of your sacred beliefs. How about the fact that Jesus was against all divorce and yet the divorce rates among Evangelical Christians is higher than in the general population, so is unwed children. You represent the worst kind of pious hypocrisy and as I said before blasphemy. You deign to speak in the name of God, as you interpret it. A truly pious person would practice their faith personally and follow Jesus teachings to “judged not lest you be judged”. You are in real danger of going to Hell, but you are too blind with false pride to see it. I suggest you repent your Un-Christian beliefs and re-read the Gospels, because I fear for the safety of your everlasting soul.
Elaine Magliaro and Gene Howington, I am opposed to discrimination in any form. If we are all created equal, why does one group of people get to dictate how other people live their lives? If we have a fundamental human right to associate with whoever we want, why do religious bigots act as if they have a right to deny same sex couples the freedom to marry? We need to get the government out of the marriage business. When was the last time a gay or lesbian person tried to impose their views on heterosexual people regarding the issue of marriage? As extreme as this sounds, I would be more worried about Iran having nuclear weapons than the sex life of gays, lesbians or heterosexual people.
