When my kid was little he loved the poem “The Pobble Who Has No Toes.” Unfortunately, we were never able to try the recipe prescribed in that poem for “eggs and buttercups fried with fish.” At that time I couldn’t verify the edible quality of buttercups so we couldn’t try it. Does anybody have a recipe that comes close to this delicious-sounding dish?

I forgot to mention that once we had Internet and I checked on edibility of buttercups, I learned that our reluctance to try them was lucky; they’re highly poisonous. But I wondered if there was some Edward Learean snack that looked like them or something.
