From Investors Business Daily, imagine what would happen if YOU did what Hillary Clinton did, and conducted ALL of your work for your employer on your own private server.

The Open-And-Shut Case Of Hillary Clinton

ALAN SCHOLNICK and BART TEUSH, Investor’s Business Daily, 6/03/2016

“Ask anyone you know what would happen if they, like Hillary Clinton, exclusively conducted their employer’s business on their own email server and you will hear, even among Mrs. Clinton’s supporters, that they would eventually be exposed, undoubtedly fired, possibly prosecuted.

Nevertheless, many in the press overlooked this gut level understanding and assessed her conduct solely on the basis of her email’s content and degree of confidentiality — not that discovering top secret email doesn’t make it worse. In any case, good luck to the rest of us if we tried to defend our rogue operation by demanding our boss sort through the email involved to find if any of it really mattered.

Yet the press followed Clinton’s lead precisely down this path. Consequently, they failed to recognize that Clinton took calculated and affirmative action to direct subordinates to evade the otherwise routine setup of her “state.gov” email so she could clear the way to swap her own private email system for the government’s. Cutting off access to the government’s system — like disconnecting security cameras — enabled Clinton to work off the government grid, undetected and unrecorded…” ~ Continue reading

Here’s the thing – love her or hate her – Hillary Clinton is odds-on going to be the Democratic nominee – in a choice between her and Donald Trump, I’ll be voting for her.

Imagine viewing Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server in context. Include Colin Powell’s use of private email for public business. Include the use of RNC servers by the Bush Administration. Include Mitt Romney destroying the hard drives of his administration’s computers after he left office. Include Orrin Hatch’s office hacking into Democratic Senators computer. Compare Whitewater to Iran/Contra. Where is the outrage over these actions?

Consider the source – take a look at what Investors Business Daily says about Bernie Sanders – the nicest thing they call him is a bum. This is a right-wing pro-big business propaganda machine.

  4. Our intrepid blog host, Gene Howington, wrote a brilliant series of articles on the subject of propaganda over a period of months several years ago. He really ought to turn it into a book. If he doesn’t have the time, perhaps one of us with (ahem!) some editing experience might find the time to do it for him.

This should be required reading for bloggers. And of course, anyone else who reads advertising, follows politics or reads print media.

  5. Most likely to win? Perhaps. But the primary isn’t over. In addition, the last matchup numbers I saw had Trump leading over Clinton; that could very well have flipped by now, and even so, flip again and again. And who knows how things change when/if the FBI completes its investigation.

Orders of magnitude difference between Powell and Clinton – I beleive the IG’s report debunked that one handily.

True, others concealed or destroyed records, and “it gets a pass because others did it too” is something children claim. In addition, the comparison does not stand up – while there is similarity in intent to circumvent records law, maintaining “top secret by any term” information on a home-brew server was outright violation of federal law.

As for source, again, if there is something factually incorrect in the piece, please point it out. If you disagree with conclusions, great! That is what discussion is for. If the objection is solely based on the source …. well, not much I can do about that other than point out that conservatives do not have the corner on bias.

One hell of a game of limbo when the bar is down to ” well…the Republicans did it!”

  7. wordcloud9's avatar wordcloud9 says:

Republicans get away with shit, Liberals are pursued relentlessly, regardless of their guilt or innocence.

For example, no matter how many times or how much proof has been presented that’s debunked the bogus Planned Parenthood-sells-baby-parts-film-fakery, the Republicans continue to use it, and hold hearings, and cut off funding.

If this is such an “open and shut case” as stated, why hasn’t a special prosecutor been appointed? Even the Republicans aren’t pushing for it – why not?.They’re just demanding she be “held accountable.”

  8. Infuriating, isn’t it, Nona. On your last point, I would have preferred a special prosecutor. This is just me guessing now, I wonder whether part of the reasoning for keeping the case with the FBI and DOJ is that Obama appointed Comey, a republican who is widely regarded as being honest and honorable, and people can reasonably view the investigation as thorough and fair. Another could be wanting to be able to take the timing of the convention and election into account. And that leads into all manner of what-if scenarios for how things couple play out depending on what is decided when,
