Words by Lucy Pitts O’Conner, age 10, from Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland. This performance of Lucy’s words by Father Ray Kelly, of Oldcastle church in Meath, Ireland was on the occasion of the wedding of Chris and Leah O’Kane on 5 April 2014.
Lyrics by Lucy Pitts O’Conner
WE JOIN TOGETHER HERE TODAY,
TO HELP TWO PEOPLE ON THEIR WAY,
AS LEAH AND CHRIS START THEIR LIFE TOGETHER,
AND NOW WE’VE REACHED THEIR SPECIAL DATE,
WE’VE COME TO HELP THEM CELEBRATE,
AND SHOW THEM HOW MUCH WE LOVE THEM TOO,
HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH
HALLELUJAH,
AS LEAH IS WALKING UP THE AISLE,
AND CHRIS LOOKS UP AND GIVES A SMILE,
THE LOVE THAT FLOWS BETWEEN THEM FILLS THE CHURCH,
WITH LEAH’S FRIENDS AND FAMILY ON HER SIDE,
SHE REALLY IS THE BLUSHING BRIDE,
WITH LOVE AND PRIDE THEY LEAD HER
HALLELUJAH,
HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH
HALLELUJAH,
WITH THE PRIEST AND THE FAMILY WHO LEAD THE PRAYERS,
WE SAY OUR LINES AND THEY SAY THEIRS,
I GUIDE THEM THROUGH THE CEREMONY,
AND IN THIS HOUSE OF GOD ABOVE,
THEY JOIN THEIR HANDS TO SHOW THEIR LOVE,
AND SAY THOSE MOST IMPORTANT WORDS THAT YOU HEARD,
HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH
HALLELUJAH,
HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH, HALLELUJAH
HALLELUJAH,
HALLELUJAH.
Nicely done! The priest has an impish smile. Thank you, Chuck,
lol
An Irishman up to something? Who’da thunk it. Nicely done, Father Kelly.
That was lovely, Chuck! Thanks for posting it.
Fermanagh is one of the four counties of Northern Ireland presently to have a majority of the population from a Catholic background, according to the 2011 census. wiki
SwM,
If you copy and paste these coordinates into Google Earth, it will take you to the church. I noticed that “street view” is available, so I plunked the little orange man down in the street in front of the church. Try it and I guarantee a grin.

The view was “lovely” as they say in Ireland. Thanks, Charlton
I see the copyright police got the video of Fr. Kelly singing deleted for a “copyright violation.” What they don’t seem to understand is the simple fact of YouTube videos giving their artists and songs a far wider audience than their own publicity departments can achieve, and do it for free. My daughter bought a number of songs through iTunes for her iPod because she heard them first on YouTube. How many? I don’t know but she has several hundred songs on her iPod.
If you want to find Fr. Kelly, type “Father Ray Kelly Hallelujah” into any of the many video sites onlne, such as YouTube, Vimeo, LiveLeak and others. Story below from The Irish Examiner.

Hopefully, the no-fun trolls at Sony will be hamstrung on getting this removed, because it is owned by RTE, Ireland’s National Television and Radio Broadcaster.
