I watch drama by investing myself emotionally. As a sci-fi fan I never liked Martin’s writing style, which is much like Robert Jordan’s, whereas I prefer writers like Zelazny, or Farmer for my epics. However, I love Sean Bean as an actor and so I watched the show. Then Bean’s head was cut off and all I had was Dinkledge and the hopes of the Starks. Finally, after the Red Wedding I gave up. Very well done show, but I no longer like the story.
Have you ever read any of Jack Chalker’s Well World series? If you like Farmer and haven’t checked out Chalker, you’re missing some reading you’d probably appreciate. The first Well World series, Well of Souls would make a great TV series, but the production costs would be easily more expensive than GoT with their crazy location shooting because of the necessary effects budget.
Nice!
By the way, is that song as used in Game of thrones an original composition?
po,
It sounds like just a shorter rearrangement of it. Here’s the original soundtrack version for comparison.
Also, to answer your question I misread (
), yes, the music for the show is by composer Ramin Djawadi.
Cool. I like good banjo pickin though.
Gotta build a Kingdom for that arrangement!!
