TMZ reported this morning that the Elks Lodge in Glendale, California, “is investigating a shocking incident that went down in the club a week ago Monday, when a member of the lodge performed “a song celebrating the death of Michael Brown … for an audience that included a number of retired and current cops…”

The song, a parody of “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” was performed by Gary Fishell. Fishell had changed the song lyrics, which include:

Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin’
With a badass policeman

And he’s bad, bad Michael Brown
Baddest thug in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
Meaner than a junkyard dog

Two men took to fightin’
And Michael punched in through the door
And Michael looked like some old Swiss cheese
His brain was splattered on the floor

And he’s dead, dead Michael Brown
Deadest man in the whole damn town
His whole life’s long gone
Deader than a roadkill dog

TMZ posted the video of the singer “ridiculing Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by white Ferguson, Mo. police officer Darren Wilson in August” on YouTube this morning.

NOTE: I posted the video below the fold.

TMZ said that the event held at the Elks Lodge “was the capper for a charity golf event, thrown by retired LAPD Officer Joe Myers, a 32 year veteran who left the force in 2007.” TMZ  was told that 50-60 people attended the dinner–“about half were cops, most of whom were retired.”

TMZ reported that Fishell is “a P.I. who once worked as an investigator for the Federal Government.” Fishell’s lawyer told TMZ, that the former federal investigator “now realizes the song was ‘off color and in poor taste.'” The lawyer added “He’s a goofball who writes funny songs.” TMZ asked why Fishell would sing such a song in a room full of cops. His lawyer replied, “He thought the room would get a kick out of it.”

Really funny song, huh? Fishell has quite a perverted sense of humor, don’t you think?

Put him on FOXNEWS. Their viewers would love it.

    “Deader than a roadkill dog”

On what level of bizarre comedy is this parody, except that of hatred and racism? I’m sure the audience enjoyed and mostly approved of it. Though you can’t see them to well the smiles on the faces of those leaving the room were telling.

  3. randyjet says:

This needs to be on FAUX news. I am sure Hannity will be calling soon. The ratings will soar!

He certainly thought his audience did — and maybe he was right.

  5. What? And with P.I.’s being the very cream of human kindness and of unreproachable character, I just find this all terribly shocking. It’s as if he was from Wisconsin or something.

Gene, my thoughts went to WI too. Disgusting, inappropriate.
