The Coffee Shop – Lizards Playing Rock-Paper-Scissors

The Coffee Shop is an open thread-style discussion forum for human interest news of the day.

From Deep Look:

Male side-blotched lizards have more than one way to get the girl. Orange males are bullies. Yellows are sneaks. Blues team up with a buddy to protect their territories. Who wins? It depends – on a genetic game of roshambo.

How I wish I knew how to post a poll on this site!  Tell me in the comments, which style do you favor – Orange, Yellow, or Blue?

—oooOooo–

This is an open thread. There are several hosts, each host being responsible for picking a “theme of the day” and starting the discussion. However, there is no hard and fast rule about staying on topic, especially if you have a personal story burning a hole in your pocket trying to escape.
Pictures and videos are welcome in the comments.  If photos are used, please be sure you own the copyright. We would rather see your personal photos anyway, rather than random stuff copied from the internet.  Our only request is that if you use pictures or videos, take pity on those who don’t have broadband, and don’t post more than two or three in a single comment.

Good Morning and THANK YOU Joy –

Great Video – What a find!

In a choice between a Polygamist, a “Don Juan” and a Faithful Husband who’s also a Good Neighbor, I have to choose the BLUES. That the females are the ones maintaining the balance of power by choosing the underlizards when their numbers are dropping is the icing on the lizard cake.

Here’s a thought – The Blue Side-Blotched Lizard as the symbol for the Progressive Movement – better than a jackass.

  3. I like blue. The Celtic Lassie loved yellow, her favorite color.

  4. Yes!! Except in a generation or 2 or 10 the Blues are replaced by Yellows and Oranges!

  5. Grumble grumble, this site. Looks like I’m logged in, but won’t let me post a comment w/o logging in again, and then complains I have a double comment. Chuck and Nona, what page do you typically start with for a WP session?

And Chuck, I do believe CL would have loved a good time with Yellows but prefer a True Blue for settling down.

Hi Joy – I have FfS as a Favorite at AOL , so I just click on it there – but my DSL (curse you AT&T and the sweetheart deal you made with our city council!) plays havoc with all my browsers, so it’s really just luck if I get connected no matter where I start from.

  7. I stay logged in to my office web site on the desktop. WP does not like you to be logged in from two different computers. That is a feature to make it harder for your website to get hijacked.

To get here, I click my bookmarked link. Have you tried cleaning your cache and running Windows Disc Cleanup?

  8. Thanks Nona and Chuck. I do frequently clear cache and I just ran cleanup a few days ago. I think the problems are due to LastPass, I cleaned out the entries for any WordPress site, and am trying starting over. There were 6 of them, with several for variants of this site’s address.

The test will be to see whether I can post w/o needing to log in again.

Two thoughts, I think of myself as a green, some yellow, some blue.

And if you add two more colors they can play rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock.
