The Coffee Shop – Once Upon an Artist: Head (video)

The Coffee Shop is an open thread-style discussion forum for human interest news of the day.

Once upon an artist snip

From Marc Guardiola:

Once Upon an Artist is a documentary series that narrates the experiences of the artists from a philosophical and poetic view. Each chapter is an interpretation of their work from a different approach. We use the tool of visual metaphor to redraw what our artists tell about their work. All during their work’s process.

In Chapter One, the sculptor Rubén Fuentes Fuertes tells us how hard was to create a 1’5 meter sculpture made of compact quartz. We follow him throughout his inspirational journey.

This is an open thread. There are several hosts, each host being responsible for picking a “theme of the day” and starting the discussion. However, there is no hard and fast rule about staying on topic, especially if you have a personal story burning a hole in your pocket trying to escape.
Pictures and videos are welcome in the comments.  If photos are used, please be sure you own the copyright. We would rather see your personal photos anyway, rather than random stuff copied from the internet.  Our only request is that if you use pictures or videos, take pity on those who don’t have broadband, and don’t post more than two or three in a single comment.

  1. Trying to decide if he is an artist or chemist. Parts of the video look as if they could have been lifted straight from “Forensic Files.”

Personally, I liked the video production better (as art) than his finished sculpture.
