Autumn days slide into long nights of winter-dark –shadows shifting on the bedroom wall, soft footfalls pacing the hallway, or dried leaves scratching on a windowpane – all subtly take on an ominous quality.
October is a month abounding with myths and legends: witches, ghosts, werewolves, faery-folk, and most terrifying of all – the unknown.
Imaginary – what realms of rapture and terror wait for each of us, “all in our heads.”

Witch stories cover a broad spectrum, from the white witch whose magic heals to the black witch whose magic destroys, and somewhere in between there are women feared for the revenge they take on men who wrong them. The tales of October are the dark ones.

Blame-gaming escalates as Election Day approaches and the Crème brûlée is about to crack. Brown, White, and Black Eggs matter to founders’ states of baker’s dozens. If all politics is local, all racism is localism. Expect a term of micro-aggressions.
The paranoid tendencies of the RWNJs could escalate in the final days, as electoral reality sets in, and rhetoric fueled by Trump himself sees some bizarre resistance speculation emerging from the factory for Conspiracy-Theory Machines.
What happens to the remains of the Trumpian hoards, deplorable though they be, once the votes get counted and defeat is at hand.
Will it be a strategic tension ready to spring forward as a new ethnic-nationalist party of RW radio audiences or an apocalypse of would-be doomsday preppers committed to racist/sexist mayhem. How will their ideologies adjust or will their constructed mythologies of land or space sovereignty compel them to actions that threaten the public sphere or social order.
After eight years of reactionary hatred projected on various racial and ethnic groups, as well as an anticipated sexist backlash, panic has set in, since the orange demagogue has lost the election.
What will this new period of uncertainty look like. Will it resemble a desire for apartheid as expressed in some supremicist documents.
Trumpians might see the post-election moment as one provoking rear-guard actions similar to the post-WWII Werewolf taking the enemy “in the rear” by piracy (Piraten)…

Fracking WikiLeaks’ “right circumstances”

WikiLeaks is continuing to publish more emails from the account of John Podesta, the chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. One newly published email revealed that Clinton privately bashed environmentalists opposed to fracking and the Keystone XL pipeline. During a meeting with the Building Trades Union in September 2015,
Expectations abound for 2017 as President Clinton, if her legislative history holds, is likely to be more conciliatory to some version of bipartisanship in environmental legislation. What counts as the Wikileaks documents show, is that there are “serious policy matters” which cannot be marginalized depending on the audience’s ideology. There can be a “Left balance” that is also the “right balance”.
This nuanced easing will occur even if fewer obstructions than under her predecessor are expected with improved party minority/majority status in Congress and perhaps fewer ‘baggers. As always there will be the constraints of special interest lobbies.
Yet how committed will she be to the 2016 Democratic Party platform as the GOP resistance which receded with the Trumpian implosion will reconstitute itself with new and usual suspects in the next session of Congress.
Even in her non-radical(sic) environmentalism, she has been grudgingly receptive to progressive positions not simply because of gaffes like forgetting to speak of retraining and redirecting lost jobs in West Virginia coal country. Considering Clinton 42’s influence at that moment, her lifelong triangulating tendencies will need to be criticized, regardless of the balance of Congressional power. Continue reading

All elections are “rigged” considering the problems of decentralized pluralism, but given that reality, can we now move on to democracy.
Unlike other nations, we don’t schedule our elections as federal holidays, nor do we require everyone to vote, nor do we even vote using some standardized process or technology, or even try to publicly finance the process with measures that would minimize “rigging”.
We do have a market system of free-form foolishness and certain idiots are taking advantage of that cash nexus. See super-PACs and Citizens United.
In the case of the RWNJs, they can even rig elections by claiming that they are Leninists when they are really more Stalinist minarchists, anxious to put some RW warlord lobbyist party in power, financed by crypto-fascists who haven’t met a sociopath they couldn’t exploit.
Steve Bannon is not a Leninist or even Citizen Kane… he is a fascist for sure, and in an American tradition of demagogic sycophants who admire authoritarians and are willing to condone all manner of atrocities.
So when Steve decides to destabilize the “establishment” with Birtherism, conspiracy theories, and other RW nutloggery, we know it’s with more than a cult of personality that he’d like to get control of the MIC, PIC, and the nuclear button. Trump the puppet seems to have many strings or some digital/manual control stuck up him. Secret rigging of agreements between Molotov-Ribbentrops are meant to be betrayed.
Bannon’s smashing the state involves one-party rule that controls all the invites and has the biggest bouncer/night watchman at the entrance. Not exactly the Playboy Mansion but more like a Charles Manson. Continue reading

Trump demonizes the media even as he is guided and endorsed by media moguls, which makes little sense if one wanted to develop an anti-media, media channel. OTOH, that is the reactionary hook for FoxNewsCorp, the quasi-secular press organ of the GOP-RWNJs and explains the self-destructive path of Glenn Beck and Roger Ailes there.
Such a nascent Trumpian anti-channel might represent the purest form of capitalist information, a commodity devoid of social meaning, yet chockablock with angry message. IOW, if monetized, like underpants gnomes, it’s phase-3 (pure exploitative) profit.
Such political nihilism would exemplify a 2016 campaign of barbarism with an orange face. The battle of candidate credibility would explain the endless campaign character attacks devoid of detailed policy proposals. This imploding credibility comes even with the latest news of Trump’s Gettysburg speech outlining 100 days of circuses talking points and putting out a contract on the American voter.
