On the Subject of Hypocrite Mike Huckabee and His Degenerate Pal Rocker Ted Nugent

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee is good buddies with rock musician and degenerate Ted Nugent. Nugent, a supporter of the Republican party and board member of the NRA, is well-known for his conservative political views and his unhinged rants against Democratic political figures like President Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Huckabee attracted a lot of attention earlier this year “when he criticized the president and first lady for letting their daughters listen to Beyoncé’s music – which in his new book he calls ‘obnoxious and toxic mental poison.” The former governor wrote that Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, was “arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object.”
According to TPM, Huckabee compared Obama allowing his daughters to listen to the “toxic mental poison” of Beyoncé’s music to buying a 12-year-old a stripper pole.
Back in January, Jon Stewart called out Mike Huckabee on The Daily Show for palling around with Ted Nugent “and for his hypocrisy when attacking Beyonce.”

Last summer, Michelle Duggar, the matriarch of TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” publicly campaigned against an anti-discrimination bill in her home state of Arkansas. She was the voice behind a robocall “opposing a civil rights proposal put forth by Alderman Matthew Petty.” Petty reportedly had “devised the bill to handle complaints from Fayetteville residents who had suffered discrimination pertaining to housing, employment, and other public accommodations.”

THE INTERCEPT: Leaked ATF Report Shows That Military, Police, FBI and Defense Department Contractors Are Members of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs in the US

Jana Winter and Jordan Smith have an interesting article over at First Look Media about a leaked ATF report obtained by The Intercept that shows the extent to which outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMGs) “are represented in nearly every part of the military, and in federal and local government, from police and fire departments to state utility agencies.” According to Winter and Smith, there are more than “100 people with sensitive military and government connections that law enforcement is tracking because they are linked to ‘outlaw motorcycle gangs.’” Those 100 people include senior military officers, nuclear power plant technicians, FBI contractors–as well as an employee of “a highly-secretive Department of Defense agency” with a Top Secret clearance.
Winter and Smith:
A year before the deadly Texas shootout that killed nine people on May 17, a lengthy report by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives detailed the involvement of U.S. military personnel and government employees in outlaw motorcycle gangs, or OMGs. A copy of the report was obtained by The Intercept.
The report lays out, in almost obsessive detail, the extent to which OMG members are represented in nearly every part of the military, and in federal and local government, from police and fire departments to state utility agencies. Specific examples from the report include dozens of Defense Department contractors with Secret or Top Secret clearances; multiple FBI contractors; radiological technicians with security clearances; U.S. Department of Homeland Security employees; Army, Navy and Air Force active-duty personnel, including from the special operations force community; and police officers.

POETRY FRIDAY: A Fairy Tale Poem Featuring Rumpelstiltskin

Over twenty years ago—while I was still teaching elementary school—I began working on a collection of humorous poems about familiar characters from fairy tales and folktales. Those characters included Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, the Wolf of Three Little Pigs fame, the Three Billy Goats Gruff, Rapunzel, the Frog Prince, Goldilocks, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel.
For Poetry Friday this week, I’m posting a poem written in the voice of the miller’s daughter for whom Rumpelstiltskin spun straw into gold.
QUEEN TO RUMPELSTILTSKIN REGARDING HER FIRST BORN CHILD

You’re back again?
I knew you’d be.
You want my baby?
Let me see:
Her dirty diapers
Are obscene
And changing them
Beneath a queen.
She spits up food
And likes to drool.
Too bad that she’s
Too young for school.
Every day is
Such a hassle.
We have no daycare
At the castle.
She cries all night.
I get no rest.
No wonder I
Don’t look my best!
I’m so exhausted
And frustrated.
Motherhood is
Overrated.
Although I love
My daughter Ann,
I’ll keep my promise,
Little man.
Now…here’s the cream
For diaper rash.
And here’s the baby.
Gotta dash!
