“Christ reigns in such a way that the Emperor who persecutes Luther for the Pope is forced to destroy the Pope for Luther”
— Luther on the Sack of Rome in 1527
Much like the NWA’s revisionist cinema hagiography is rap’s Counter-Reformation, it’s pretty savvy for tRump to conjoin the failure of capitalism in the Southern EU and the crush of mercenaries perhaps with Daesh ties exploiting human trafficking immigration across the Med. Overlapping it with the evangelical anti-Papist message while appealing to reactionary whites makes for a billowing 2016 ‘bagger Sturmfront
Everything that ‘baggers need, a contradictory sense that the separation of Church and State needs to be desecularized to support an evangelical Biblical hegemony with The Donald as the hegemon. But first Des Moines and Dubuque must be sacked before Compton and Charleston.
The comment came when CNN’s Chris Cuomo presented Trump with a hypothetical situation during an interview Wednesday. What if, Cuomo said, Trump met the pope, and — through a translator — the pope expressed a belief that capitalism can be “a real avenue to greed, it can be really toxic and corrupt.” How would Trump respond, Cuomo asked.
“I’d say ISIS wants to get you,” Trump said. “You know that ISIS wants to go in and take over the Vatican? You have heard that. You know, that’s a dream of theirs, to go into Italy.”
