It is not lack of love, but a lack of friendship
that makes unhappy marriages.

Of course, my terms of endearment for my husband do not include Baby, he will be home today not tomorrow, and I do not expect him to be the solution to all my problems. But other than that, this was the best of a surprisingly poor lot of songs on YouTube about one’s beloved returning home. There are a lot more songs available there about missing one’s love, or somebody breaking a lover’s heart and leaving.

I’m hoping you know some better ‘returning home’ songs, and will add them in the comments.

After 35 years, he still puts the light in my eye, and that is as good as life gets.

After Hollywood failed to appreciate her genius for acting and directing, she began a second career managing non-profits, from which she has retired. One song about going home that sticks in my mind is this one.

I was on R&R in Sidney, Australia for the days between Christmas and New years 1968 and this song was played everywhere there was a jukebox. Lots of US troops there then, and we all wanted to go home.
