Since November, the accidental president has been trying to escape having won by the perfect storm of Russian intervention, voter suppression, covert sexism/racism, and strategic dirty tricks.

#TrumpRussia continues its dogged march, with Mike Flynn’s deal with Mueller yielding an interesting narrative about the time between the 2016 election and the Trump inaugural, as influence peddling was going to yield an immense return for many oligarchs.

More circumstantial information is being assembled on an intersecting set of motives: for actions made to attempt lifting existing and new Russian sanctions and a parallel action to organize a commercial consortium financed by the Saudis but including Russians that would build dozens of nuclear reactors in the Middle East.

Fascinating in all this is what Lord Dampnut knew and of course when he knew it since his ‘management style’ while chaotic, is highly centralized in terms of information flow.

The interesting matter is his short attention span that contributed to his fumbled tweet on Saturday and its authorship claim by his lawyer, attempting to deflect an actual admission of obstructing justice. Trying to impugn the FBI signals greater desperation even if firing Mueller is still a WH option, however pyrrhic.

This is by no means the whole story since there’s all that Russian election meddling, the GOP complicity including modifying a political party platform to accommodate Ukraine and Russia, and the corruption of US democracy to favor ruling classes of oligarchs and kleptocrats, built on the subliminal fears of ‘bagger culture.

Remember there’s probably no ‘smoking gun’ but rather a smoldering arsenal, since Steve Bannon, among other RWNJ traditionalists want a post-Trump MAGA movement, but as Voltaire remarked on the Holy Roman Empire:

“This agglomeration which was called and which still calls itself the Holy Roman Empire was in no way holy, nor Roman, nor an empire.”^[29]
